Modeling Business Communication for the Purpose of Business Process Reengineering

Before a Business Process Reengineering project is initiated, a solid understanding of the existing business processes in the organization is necessary. This paper examines and compares two approaches for modeling business processes. Both approaches are unique in the sense that they are founded in the speech act theory and consider communication to be the core of the business process.
